Adult Ministries

At Pennington Presbyterian Church, we believe that we have never “arrived” when it comes to learning and growing in our faith.

We encourage all adults to find ways to continue growing in their faith. Below we list some of our regular offerings, but we also have seasonal small group opportunities. We also invite you to consider sharing new ideas about how we can continue to learn and grow together. To learn more about Adult Ministrires at the church, contact the church office.

Adult Faith Formation

No matter our age, God desires us to grow deeper in faith, understanding, and Christian commitment. We believe that is best done together. Sunday mornings, from September to May, we offer a variety of classes and discussion groups for adults of all ages to grow in faith together. More than accumulating knowledge, this is a time for reflection and sharing about what it means to follow Jesus by loving God and neighbor. Currently, our Sunday morning class is available in a hybrid format for those who want to join on Zoom and those who want to join us in person. Contact the church office for information on how to join online.

Older Adult Ministry

The Older Adult Ministry (OAM) serves the seniors in our congregation and in the surrounding community with a monthly Brown Bag Lunch program (currently in-person and on Zoom) featuring a speaker(s) of particular interest to seniors. We provide an extensive selection of inspirational Care Notes booklets for anyone dealing with illness, grief, or other vital life issues.

Through Parish Callers we visit, call, and send cards to the homebound. And once a month, after the worship service, we provide cards for all occasions that enable everyone, regardless of age, to send their prayers and best wishes to someone else in the congregation.

For the pure joy of socialization, we organize trips to places of interest, followed by lunch at a restaurant nearby. OAM continues to support Explorations, a senior daytime learning program for Hopewell Valley and surrounding communities, which got its start in our church many years ago. And we actively participate in the Regional OAM, involving churches of various denominations in this area community.
