Pray for Our World

Starting October 4, 2015, with the country of Afghanistan, Pennington Presbyterian Church has been praying for the countries of the world and their people, focusing on one country each Sunday. The goal is to pray for the whole world and to better understand our uniqueness and our similarities. Along the way we learned how much we have in common, especially in terms of the challenges we are facing with regard to the impact of climate change, growing violence, drug addiction, and many other challenges. We also learned to appreciate more the advantages we have as the United States relative to much of the world. This project is expected to complete Spring 2020 (April 12, 2020.)

If you want to see what we learned about each country, look at our Sunday bulletins that contain the write-up prepared by a team of volunteers of the church. (Link to the pages with a PDF of the bulletins.)

This is the list of countries and territories we are using. Dates are provided only for the remaining countries, as of August 16, 2019, which is the most recent update of this page.
