Older Adult Ministry (OAM)

The Older Adult Ministry Committee (OAM) serves the seniors in our congregation and in the surrounding community. We sponsor a monthly Brown Bag Lunch with a speaker of particular interest to seniors, open to all and combining socialization with education. We provide an extensive selection of inspirational Care Notes booklets for anyone dealing with illness, grief or other vital life issues. Through Parish Callers we visit, call and send cards to the homebound. We organize trips to places of interest, followed by lunch at a restaurant nearby. We continue to support Explorations, a senior daytime learning program for Hopewell Valley and surrounding communities. And we actively participate in the Regional OAM, involving churches of various denominations in this area. The Older Adult Ministry Committee serves the seniors of our church and surrounding community by providing opportunities for fellowship and networking. OAM distributes information pertinent to seniors, including “File of Life” refrigerator magnets for vital medical information needed in case of emergency. Parish Callers also keep in contact with our seniors who are hospitalized or homebound through phone calls, cards, and personal visits.

Barbara and Dick Pratt“Pres Plus” is an ongoing series of events designed for fellowship while enjoying interesting regional “field trips”.  The OAM Committee is seeking more older adults to join them for service and fun. Our activities happen during daylight hours on Thursday or Friday.
