Older Adult Ministry (OAM)

The Older Adult Ministry Committee (OAM) serves the seniors in our congregation and in the surrounding with a speaker of particular interest to seniors, open to all and combining socialization with education. We provide an extensive selection of inspirational Care Notes booklets for anyone dealing with illness, grief or other vital life issues. Through Parish Callers we visit, call and send cards to the homebound. And once a month, after the worship service, we provide cards for all occasions that enable everyone, regardless of age, to send their prayers and best wishes to someone else in the congregation. For the pure joy of socialization, we organize trips to places of interest, followed by lunch at a restaurant nearby. OAM continues to support Explorations, a senior daytime learning program for Hopewell Valley and surrounding communities, which got its start in our church many years ago. And we actively participate in the Regional OAM, involving churches of various denominations in this area community. We also sponsor a monthly Brown Bag Lunch.
