Five Small Groups to Choose From: Something for Everyone!

  • Host/Leader: Nancy Mikoski, 629-737-1221 x14
  • Address: at the Church
  • Bible Study using Lectio Divina and Scripture for each Sunday of Lent

Lectio Divina, from the Latin meaning ‘divine reading,’ is an ancient prayer practice. This form of prayer allows God to speak in and through scriptures. Using the scripture readings we will hear in Sunday worship, we will use Lectio Divina in our small group meeting time each week to meditate & reflect on each passage and share with one another how the scripture speaks to us.

#2 Tuesday starting February 24 (March 3, 10, 17, 24) from 8-9 pm

  • Hosts/Leader: Rob and Leeann Thornton
  • Address: 66 Columbia Ave, Hopewell, 609-466-3732
  • Book will be provided: God’s Abundant Table

According to John Calvin, the true church was wherever the Word was rightly preached and the sacraments rightly administered. Put another way, church happens when believers gather to tell the story and break the bread. In God’s Abundant Table, Cynthia Campbell begins with the premise that the Eucharist (the thanksgiving meal of the church) is far more than a re-enactment of the meal in the Upper Room. Discover the many connections in the Bible between what we do in the Lord’s Supper, what it means to be in relationship with God, and how God would have us live every day.
