2020 Family of God Mission Trip to West Virginia

Pennington Presbyterian Church is planning a mission trip to West Virginia!

Why: Christians are called to love God and love our neighbors. This trip is an opportunity to do both! We will grow in our faith through service and prayer, demonstrate God’s love for all people, build new relationships within the Family of God of our congregation, and with God’s people in WV, have fun together. We will discover the challenges and beauties of life in rural WV and explore opportunities for family mission near home.

Who: Teens, children, and adults of any age. High school students may attend with their families or as part of a teen group with our youth advisors. Younger children must be with a parent or grandparent.

What: Week-long experience of faith-building, serving, and fun. Serving will include home renovation projects, helping with a food bank and used-clothing store, and preparing for a large school backpack and supplies ministry. People of all ages will find the ministry that suits them well.

When: July 18-24, 2020

Where: We will stay in air-conditioned dorms at Davis and Elkins College (PCUSA-related school) in Elkins, WV and have use of a pool/game room and may attend evening concerts related to their Augusta Festival, and serve with Tyrand, an ecumenical mission of the United Methodist Church in Mill Creek, WV. Their slogan is “Faith and Action Joined in Love.”

How Much: Amazingly, with fundraisers and ministry investments from the church budget, the cost will be just $150/person for the week! Our commitment is to enable all who would like to go to participate without any financial barrier. If assistance is needed, please speak with Nancy Mikoski who will keep this need confidential.

WHAT’S NEXT? Registration is now open! Fill out a registration form and turn it in with a $50 per person non-refundable deposit BY MARCH 14. This is a real deadline. Davis and Elkins College will only hold a block of rooms for us until that date.

CONTACT Nancy Mikoski (nancy@pennpres.org)or Amy Pszczolkowski (amypiz19@yahoo.com)to offer input about the dates or to ask questions.
